OMG!!! CHICKENS ARE LEGAL!!!!
I'm so excited I can barely sit still!!!! I just talked to Dallas Animal Services, and IT'S LEGAL TO KEEP PET CHICKENS IN THE CITY OF DALLAS!!!! chickens are legal!!! Now we HAVE to figure out the best way to talk our landlady into letting us have them... the backyard's already chickenwired thanks to Frisco-- so all we need is some chicks and a coop! OOooooooooh, it just MUST work!

Here's hoping that your landlady says OK. I initially got chickens years ago because we had a grasshopper problem. I was not prepared for how much I've enjoyed them since! They are really lovely creatures. I had a Rhode Island Red hen once who began laying an egg every morning in my decorative planter on my front porch. It was filled with an arrangement of dried flowers, but I enjoyed it the most when my little red hen roosted in it, making happy clucking sounds. I let her have that planter!
A friend of mine has two chickens ( hens) IN her apartment...She litter boxed trained them..She lets them on the porch where they lay eggs..The funniest thing I ever saw...Her Rhode Island Red would sit on her lap and fall asleep while they watched tv...
I'm jealous! You have the right but I've got the chicks and no right. *&^%$!!!
